Homeward Bound

Heading home is a special thing.  Whether you’ve just spent a day at work on the other side of town or a month on the other side of the world.  No matter how amazing your experience away from home may have been, there’s nothing quite like that homeward bound feeling.

It’s a feeling compounded when your home turf is one of the most beautiful spots in the country.  Now, without sounding like a tourism ad for Canterbury, Rangiora and the surrounding area is quite simply idyllic.  The scenery, community and endless adventures waiting nearby make it a place you can’t be away from for too long.

You could say its one and only fault is that its not Auckland.  Alright alright put your pitchforks away, let me explain.  Years ago when Southern dweller TJ penned the Myflatpack name you know and love today, he realised his new venture would need a  base of operations with a strong population to thrive.  And did it ever thrive.  Suddenly IKEA was in our homes thanks to a busy Auckland showroom and he found himself with a runaway success.  Fast forward to today and Myflatpack has become synonymous with Ik in New Zealand, while online accessibility means we can deliver to every nook and cranny in the country.

And thats where we find ourselves with this announcement.  Suddenly bringing the operation down to the beloved stomping ground doesn’t seem so unfeasible.  Suddenly it just seems right.  Yep, we’re giving in to the pull and moving Myflatpack down south, and to where else but Rangiora!

For Cantabrians, it means being able to check out Ikea in person without having to check in for a flight first, to have a hub of lifestyle and beautiful furniture close by.

For the rest of the country, it means business as usual through our online store and affordable freight.

And for us, it means the chance to bring Myflatpack into the lifestyle we live every day down here.

Myflatpack is coming home and we couldn’t be more excited to share this new adventure with you.
